A Nobody
Thoughter was once a nobody; a simple bandit hailing underneath the banner of the Salvadman Gang from the outskirts of Gryphon Lake Village making a living off raiding unsuspecting travelers. He always had dreams of becoming more, but bandits like him always received the short end of the stick and the gang could barely make ends meet; be it with the demands of the gang's upkeep, avoiding the guards or demands placed on them by other gangs. One night, this all changed.
The Vision
As the result of a raid one night, the Salvadman bandits seized an odd treasure chest containing an ominous red orb that resembled an eye; a red eye that became more yellow the closer it came to its green iris surrounding a completely black pupil. Seeing this as a potentially evil charm, the gang put the chest away and hid it somewhere within their hideout for later investigation. Later on; the leader of the gang investigated it and by doing so damned the gang.
Pure chaos and utter madness followed. The leader was driven so insane that she ended up dying to the hands of her own gang days later in attempt to stop her from outright destroying the gang. The rest of the gang followed her footsteps and also examined the orb, all succumbing to the insanity it induced. All except for Thoughter, whose life was forever changed from this madness.

A Great Cause
As the last remaining bandit in his gang, Thoughter set out to clear his name from the bad deeds he committed as a bandit and become a hero. Fearing Ganondorf would return soon, he set out to become the next Hero of Time and defeat Ganondorf when he returned. He started out by attempting to find and complete the trials Link underwent on his adventure. Midway through this task, he somehow acquired the Power Link had and used it to gain the support of the people of Eastern Hyrule. He tried to present it to Zelda, who immediatedly denounced him as someone who could never become a Hero of Time.
Blinded by rage and arrogance, the deranged Thoughter did not take kindly to Zelda's quick judgement and decided to take a drastic course of action out of rage.

Conquest
Consumed from rage and fury out of Zelda telling him that he could never become a Hero of Time, he decided to exert his wraith on the people of Eastern Hyrule. He rapidly built up an army from whatever followers had stayed with him and used that to conquer large areas of Eastern Hyrule. Eventually, the army grew to a large enough size to be of a sizable threat to Central Hyrule. It was at this stage he came to the truth that he would never become a Hero of Time, but he no longer cared. At this stage; his only goal for the greater good for everyone was to defeat Ganondorf when he returned, which did not stay forever...
An Alternative Sword
Convinced that he would never be able to wield the Master Sword, the sword Link used to defeat Ganondorf, Thoughter started looking for alternative weapons that may be effective against him. On his hunt, he came across the Happy Mask Salesman, who offered to tell him about this new alternative weapon he could fight Ganondorf with. Deranged and greedy, his eyes lit up and accepted the deal with the evil man. The masked man transferred a portion of the Power and insanity he had to the Keaton. Already mad and angry at Zelda for his denouncement of being a potential Hero of Time, it took little time for him to adjust to it and use his newfound Power.
Another Realm's Chaos
The sword he was told about was the Scimitar of Twilight, a sword that was once considered lost in the Twili Realm. The Happy Mask Salesman told him the location of the sword and all other necessary information that was required to find it. Grabbing several of his strongest men, he delved into the Twili Realm and successfully retrieved the sword without a hitch. But there was a twist. In order for it to be able to match Ganondorf, he needs to bring the sword to full power.
Back in Lofis, the Scimitar of Twilight gave Thoughter the power he needed to start combing through Hyrule for artifacts that could bring him closer to unlocking the full power of his shiny new blade. As time went by, Thoughter learned about the location of where the Artifact that could unlock it’s full power and the implications of getting to it. Attempting to hatch out a plan to get him access to this Artifact, Thoughter decided to turn his attention towards Central Hyrule...

Water Temple Attack
While looking for powerful artifacts, Thoughter came across the prospect of stealing the three Spiritiual Stones and decided to launch an attack on Lake Hylia in an attempt to steal the Zora's Sapphire. The attack on Lake Hylia was initially a success, capturing the location and the Water Temple, but then it became a trap. With the help of Matilda serving as a mole within the army, the Zoras were able to temporarily relocate the sapphire and forces in preparation to trap the army holding the temple. Following the Hylian Guard and Zora forces punching holes in the defense surrounding the lake; Adventurers and Ruto swooped onto the temple and pressed Thoughter into a corner, which he barely managed to escape from.
The Hunt Continues
Wearing his failure to steal the Zora's Sapphire, Thoughter decided that his next step would be to research the other two stones and prepare to take them in subsequent attacks. However, since the assault on the Water Temple, it has become clear that he has drawn the attention of all of Central Hyrule onto him. Now, it is much more difficult to perform an attack of the caliber of what he did with the Water Temple. It is not known what he has planned next, but it seems likely that he may be going after the Goron's Ruby next.
