This thread contains the descriptions for all the races that players, APCs and NPCs have used in the current game.
Description
Hylian
Hylians are a magical race of Humans that were descended from those living among the Goddess Hylia. They bear pointed ears and carry the powers and abilities of their ancient ancestors. They are the primary residents of Hyrule, mainly living in large cities.
This is the default race of ZURPG. If you do not select a race or set description upon creation, your character will be defaulted to Hylian

Human
The regular Human beings that inhabit Hyrule in small pockets as well as being the primary residents of Romania, mainly in smaller villages like Kakriko Village and Ordon Village. The ancestors of Hylians and the other Hylian races that were descended from them, Humans tend to be curious and like to explore the world around them.
Goron
Gorons are a race of big, burly rock-people that lack ears that normally live on mountain ranges. Usually golden in color, Gorons live on a diet of rock and are very heavy; sinking down in water even with the best of floatation aids.
Zora
Zoras are a race of fish-like people that bear fins on their arms and bodies, which mostly comes in a slim, streamlined form suited for life in water. Their scales come in a variety of colors, but the most common color is blue-green. Despite their aquatic habits, they can also live on land without too much trouble.
Kokiri
Kokiri are beings that appear to resemble Human children with Hylian characteristics. They primarily live within Kokiri Village and always have a Fairy Companion. Roughly the size of a 9-year old child, Kokiri don't show physical genderistic characteristics; genders can only be reliably determined from a glance by looking at their attire (males wear distinctive floppy green caps like the one Link wore while females wear headbands). They also almost always have red or brown hair, the only known exception being Saria (who has green hair).
Kokiri appear to be ageless and remain in their child-like forms for as long as they live, though they are mortal beings and can be killed like anyone else.

Gerudo
Gerudos are a race of light brown-skinned Humans and subrace of Hylians that primarily live in Gerudo Valley and Gerudo Desert; which are named after them. They are almost exclusively female; with only one male being born into the tribe every 100 years as the result of a curse. They have round ears, a sharp bird-like nose, amber eyes and red hair.
Due to the fact that only one male Gerudo is born every 100 years as the result of a curse, the creation of male Gerudos as player characters or APCs is permanently disabled to keep the story in line with the game. The only male Gerudos that should be in the game are Ganondorf and Garunoff. On addition, Gerudos give off an intimidating appearance to regular civilians within Hyrule due to the tribe's fierce reputation as warriors.

Sheikah
Sheikah are a light-skinned race of Humans, subrace of Hylians and are a split from the Gerudo tribe. They are distinguished by their generally ninja-like build and highly distinctive red eyes that resemble a traitor's. They usually specialize in the art of shadows, discretion and sneakiness as they go about on their Sheikah business.
Despite being guardians of the Royal Family and by extension the Triforce itself, the Sheikah have a long history of cynicism towards others. They pose themselves as guardians over everything dark of the world, especially things regarding the subject of death.

Deku Scrub
Deku Scrubs are a species of usually small, shrub-like wooden creatures that mainly live within Lost Woods and Woodfall and bear a cannon-like snout capable of firing seeds. Somewhat anthropomorphic; in the sense they have arms, legs and a face, their large round wooden heads usually make up a large portion of their size; usually a third or more of their total height, while their body and legs are squished down in proportion. They are usually slightly smaller than a Kokiri, and wear "clothes" made out of flowers and leaves.
Deku Scrubs can occasionally be found as enemies and when they are, they should be treated like one. These deranged Deku Scrubs, corrupted by evil, are usually distinguished by the red-orange foliage they wear and are often called Mad Scrubs. As a result, Deku Scrubs are advised against wearing a red-orange outfit of foliage or else you might get mistaken for a Mad Scrub.

Skull Kid
Skull Kids are mysterious creatures that appear to resemble children, but bearing wood-like skin, that call the depths of Lost Woods home. They usually wear a red cloak and hat, with clothes made out of a straw-like material worn underneath their red garments. They are adept at playing pranks on others; mainly using the Lost Woods as a playground in which to execute these pranks.
It is rumored that Kokiri who end up lost in the Lost Woods eventually become Skull Kids; which explains their childish size and agelessness. Skull Kids have a well deserved reputation for pulling nasty pranks on others, leading to difficulty associating with people from most other races in Hyrule.

Keaton
This description refers to the anthropomorphic form of Keaton, as they appear in The Minish Cap, instead of the feral form as they appear in Majora's Mask.
Keaton are a race of anthropomorphic fox-like creatures who are capable of communicating with and manipulating spirits. Their fur is usually golden yellow in color and a paler blaze, running down the frontside of their bodies, and have a set of three black-tipped tails. They frequent Northwest Hyrule and tend to be bandits. Keaton can be identified from one another by the sheen of their tails, which is different for each member of the race.
As a warning; most people in Hyrule are not readily willing to approach Keaton out of association with Thoughter and his bandits, who are predominantly Keaton.

Lizalfos
Lizalfos are somewhat anthropomorphic lizard-like creatures that have a large tail; characterized for their swiftness and ferocity as bandits. Their scales are usually green in color and they have no issues standing upright.
Lizalfos are generally considered to be enemies or bandits; usually evoking fear and distrust among the general public towards them when present and are often on the Bounty Board for Petty Offenses.

Moblin
Moblins are large, beefy anthropomorphic bulldog creatures with porcine features like a pig-nose, tusks coming from their mouth and a lack of fur; which usually live in forests. Usually significantly taller and more well built (or fatty) than Hylians, they tower on their feet with their brown or darker skin (which tends to vary between gang); they are usually very physically powerful but not enough to match Goron strength.
Moblins are generally regarded as hostile creatures for both having served Ganondorf as his main soldiers and for their hostile temperament towards others inside their territories; Faron Moblin Woods and Spryte Moblin Woods. While there are some friendly Moblins, most are considered to be hostile.

Goriya
Goriyas are tall demonic creatures that have taken on the general appearance of anthropomorphic rats, specializing in the mastery of the Boomerang and mimicry of others. They are generally slightly bigger than Hylians and are often either bulkier or less bulky; depending on which skills they wish to focus on. They usually come in either red or blue fur with a white blaze, though other fur colors and patterns have been observed.
Goriyas tend to be considered to be hostile. While many are friendly to Hylians, there are a great deal of groups that are hostile towards them and will not refuse an opportunity to loot or kill them.

Rito
Rito are a race of anthropomorphic birds and have evolved from Zoras, sharing many physical traits that Zoras and Hylians have; a slender body, pointed ears and an upright stance. The major physical differences they have is that their nose is replaced with a large beak (which doesn't function as a mouth, as their mouth is directly beneath it) and that the Zora fins are replaced by wings which dangle down like sleeves when not in use. They usually bear a coat of brown feathers and are about as tall as a Hylian.
When they fly, the Rito's arms and wing sleeves fuse magically fuse together to form a set of wings which they use to fly with and their feet magically transforms into sharp talons to carry objects with.

Haddaken
Origin: ZURPG
Haddaken are a race of anthropomorphic foxes, not unlike Keaton, who have naturally adapted to exploration and craftsmanship while being in sync with nature and the animal world. Usually having red or brown fur with a white blaze running down their chins to their groin and slightly smaller than Hylians, Haddaken come in a range of body shapes. They are native to the dream world of Koholint and frequent Animal Village along with a host of other anthropomorphic animals.

Dingo
Origin: ZURPG
An anthropomorphic race of Dingoes from a far away land that they simply refer to as either home or south. The Dingo race is known for playfulness and often have a rather odd sense of humor. They have a natural skill of detecting the points of a creatures body that will inflict much more damage as such when they strike true they strike hard. Loyal to a tee, the Dingo race is not to be trifled with as they will defend what they belie in to the death. They are human-sized and are usually black, brown or tan. Other colors have been recorded, but the aforementioned three are by far the most common.

Gaian
Origin: Final Fantasy VII
Gaians are a race of Humans, but with one major difference. They originate from a far-off technologically advanced world. This world is filled with towns and cities that have access to Mako Reactors and Mako Energy. This Mako Energy powers their street lights, buildings, computer systems, you name it. They also have access to a wide-range of guns and ammunition, of which only a tiny subset of that made it to Hyrule.
There is only two Gaian characters in the game thus far; Sephiroth, and Strife (NPC).
To keep the story in-check with ZURPG, creation of Gaian characters is permanently disabled.

Vampire
Origin: Castlevania
Vampires are a race of undead Humans (though not with the Undead Innate Skill) who have returned to the world through endowment with dark energies in Romania. They feast on the blood of Humans and other creatures and are capable of shape-shifting into a bat in order to fly around to scout for more potential victims. They are characterized by their bone-white skin, unusual eye colors and a set of elongated canine teeth to form fangs.
Vampires are harmed by garlic and sunlight and should keep away from them at all costs. In retrospect, Vampires are stronger at night and have better senses in the dark. Because of this, Vampires can not acquire a Light affinity in any way, shape or form.
Vampires, out of association with Dracula, are considered to be evil and therefore are normally not trusted by Hylians or other races in Hyrule.

Covern
Origin: The Leaklon Chronicles
Coverns are a race of Humans, native to the land of Terrifirma, who have been given the power to manipulate time. Slightly bigger than a Hylian, they have access to powerful Aura-based time Magic and have better memory than others.
Coverns grow at an agonizingly slow rate and are extremely long-lived; only reaching maturity like a Human does at the age of 100 and live for around 500 years in optimal conditions. As a result, there are fairly few Coverns in existence.

Vulpe
Origin: The Leaklon Chronicles
Vulpe are a race of anthropomorphic foxes, much like Haddaken, who are native to Scallia and can sense aura energy being emitted from living beings. Bearing a variety of fur colors, mostly red with a white blaze like a Haddaken, Vulpe are about the same size as a Hylian and usually sport a slim build. They wield Aura Magic
Haddaken and Vulpe are easily confused between each other at a first glance, but Vulpe can usually be identified with a black muzzle stripe, shorter snout and longer ears. They also the only one to come in a rare odd mixture of orange and grey with a black stripe running down their back; known as the Cross fox coloration.

Cannine
Origin: The Leaklon Chronicles
Cannine are a species of anthropomorphic dogs who are native to the land of Scallia and have evolved to live in mountain conditions. Coming in a variety of body shapes and builds, Cannines are often large and beefy. They usually come in solid colors with a pale or white blaze, or bear the "saddle" coloration (Black on top of their back over a solid color) though a variety of fur patterns have been observed.
The species has several races to it, like a race of anthropomorphic wolves (Lycan), but they are identical in to each other in ability for ZURPG. Depending on the race and coloration; Cannines may often be mistaken for Goryias, Moblins or rarely even Tinsuits
