In the middle of Hyrule Field is a single mountain peak. Its size from one side to another is no larger than Kakariko Village, though its height is triple that of Hyrule Castle's walls. A long path runs from the base to the top, taking two full circles to get to the top. As a result, a marathon takes place once a week to see who can get to the top fastest. Half a mile run uphill even with Magic seems to wear out even the strongest of people.
At the top of the path of the mountain peak is the entrance to Lon Lon Ranch, a wooden gate that welcomes all through its old-fashioned doors. A palisade wall surrounds the entire ranch with three guard towers that form a triad around the ranch. Another tower, taller than the guard towers stands at the opposite end of the entrance and is resident to a cloaked person that calls himself The Keeper.
Ever since the coming of Magic, Talon and Ingo had to build an inn at the ranch due to the number of travelers stopping by every day. Usually it's because there's a lot of people out in the evening and need a nearby shelter to live through the night, and with Lon Lon Ranch being the closest, it ends up being highly populated. Sometimes, it gets crazier than Hyrule Castle Town Market.
The ranch is divided into three sections. The first two sections cover half of the ranch. On the left side (from the entrance) is housing for the residents of Lon Lon Ranch, most namely Talon, Ingo, Malon, and a few other helpers. The Inn is also on this side and is practically point-blank to the entrance. On the right side, Talon and Ingo take care of the cows and Cuccos. They also have a small shop set up as well as some mini-games. It's usually something completely random and different every week, but people seem to enjoy them for the most part.
The other half of the ranch is a fenced in area for the horses surrounded by a track used for horse racing. Malon spends most of time here taking care of the horses, though she'll go for a ride once in a while, be it just around the track or around Hyrule Field.
At the base of Lon Lon Ranch, just next to the path up to the top, is a door of some kind. Well, it's a stone face, but markings on it indicate that it's the entrance to something. Many people have tried various spells and explosives to try and open it, but so far, it's been completely unsuccessful. In fact, bombs in general don't seem to even scratch any part of the mountain. However, someone was stupid enough to set off a hyper bomb halfway up the path, creating a crack into the cliff face. For a bit of time, sunlight appeared to be sifting through from inside the mountain, but the cliff face regenerated before anyone could check it out.
