Hyrule - Temple of Time - WindStrike - 06-24-2012

A year passed before Rauru opened the doors to the Temple of Time once again. Inside, the altar that held the three jewels was in shambles, and the jewels themselves were not to be seen. The door to the room of the Master Sword was cracked in two, yet it still barred the way.

Rather than tearing down the door, a Kokiri was sent to see what was on the other side. The Master Sword was not there, and the pedestal was completely destroyed. Part of the ceiling had even collapsed, vines draping the walls and roots beginning to form among the floor.

Two more years passed. The area was never cleaned up and remained in ruins. No one had bothered visiting the Temple, yet it was never torn down.

Suddenly, people emerged from the Temple of Time. No one had entered, yet some came out. While they were not threatening, they were questionable. Apparently, a portal of sorts had opened up in the Temple of Time, one that linked Hyrule to Termina. No one knew why or how it had opened, but when they heard each others legends, they welcomed one another, realizing that they had some sort of relation.

Following the first by a few weeks, a second portal opened to a volcanic realm - Subrosia. However, while people would enter Subrosia, its residents decided to simply stay where they were, welcoming the non-lava dwellers. Hyrule was too "cold" for Subrosians, it seems. They did not ally themselves to Hyrule Castle like Clock Town did, but they remained on friendly terms.

The purpose of these portals and who opened them still remains unclear. It may have happened when Agahnim tried to break open the seal on Ganondorf and failed. More portals have appeared, but they don't lead anywhere. These "grey portals" are simply mirrors, though with time, they may allow a passage of travel to yet more worlds. "Only time will tell," says Rauru. A fitting phrase for the Temple of Time.
