2-1-14: The Final Shard - WindStrike - 02-01-2014
After Sephiroth was kicked to the Training Grounds, a familiar Subrosian Poe named Shady told him about a cloaked figure that carried a sword that was just like the Murasame, and it had a Nayru's Love Shard embedded at the base of the blade. The figure went into the Catacombs, an area that existed beneath the Northeastern District of Hyrule Village. The Catacombs used to be the old Hyrule Town, but after it was infested with Redeads and Gibdos and other horrors, Princess Zelda made the decision to build the new Hyrule Village over it.
Shady led Sephiroth to the Catacombs, but he was unable to go, because the Poe side of him would take over. Sephiroth went in, finding himself in the outskirts of town. Worn and abandoned buildings covered with vines were all around him. He went into a few of them, trying to dodge Gibdos. He found a diary written by one of the remaining members of the Royal Family and a book entitled The Sheikah, Loyal to the Royal Family?. The second building he entered, however, was not worn down. After investigating it and accidentally setting fire to part of it (and killing two Gibdos for the fastest recorded battle in ZURPG history), he was met by a partially senile old man. The old man held the sword with the Nayru's Love Shard. When asked where he got it, he replied, "Why, I picked it up in the land of Gaia, of course!"
<DM> *You enter the shop, and... Fran is running it?*
* Sephiroth kicks Fran out the window.
* Sephiroth has kicked Fran from #zurpg (You have been kicked out the window and you landed right on the surface of the sun!)
* Orithan sets mode Silence on Fran
<DM> *KEESE AND CO. kicks Fran off their property.*
* Sephiroth opens the chest.
<DM> *You see the cut up remains of some dead body in the chest. There's a Heart Container resting on top of the dead body.*
* Sephiroth collects the Heart Container, then closes the chest to let the dead body rest in pieces.
* Sephiroth gets boo'd off stage for the bad puns.
* Sephiroth defenestrates himself.
* Sephiroth tries to open one of the lockers.
< DM> *The locker is... locked shut.*
< DM>
* Sephiroth ... facepalm.
< DM> (lol)
* Sephiroth inspects the fireplace.
<DM> *The fireplace seems to have new, fresh wood in it. There's a box of matches and some paper nearby. They don't have any trace of decay on them.*
<DM> *It seems that, despite this place being buried under the new Hyrule Village for 3 years and it being run by the undead, someone is still living here.*
* Sephiroth grabs some paper, crumbles it up and lines the fresh wood with it, then uses a match to light a fire before quickly scurrying through the door closest to the fireplace.
<DM> *The fresh wood catches fire, and it becomes rather smoky quickly.*
Later...
<DM> *You open the door and you meet a rush of flames.*
<DM> *From across the room appears the corpses of two Gibdos, burnt to a crisp.*
<DM> *Congratulations, you gain 60 Experience from unintentionally setting the room on fire and killing two Gibdos without even entering battle with them!*
<Sephiroth> LAWL
<DM> *And that, my friends, was the fastest battle to date.*
<DM> *Won before it started.*
<OldMan> Hmm... well, I a'member someone else in here.. he should be at... where that Temple of Time or whatsh it called is!
<Monroe> What? This place doesn't go that far, the Temple of Temple shouldn't be 'ere!
<OldMan> Well, when that one guy ish here... I shee that temple.
<Monroe> ... well, that WOULD be the safest place.... if it exists. Sure this guy ain't just senile, Seph?
<Monroe> *Monroe, are you sure YOU'RE not senile? What's the Temple of Temple?
<DM> wait
<DM> ..........
* Monroe just 4th walled himself to typo correct himself to senilize himself by the DM so that could go to a Temple of Temple. What.
<Strife> Wha? I remem'er you meteorin' the planet, and that's all ye can do?!
* Sephiroth kicks Strife out the window.
* Sephiroth has kicked Strife from #zurpg (You have been kicked out the window and you landed in the pants! «16,217»)
* Strife (~WindStrik@24.246.165.68) has joined #zurpg
<DM> *Old man, you've got some strife in your pants.*
<DM> *You may want to get that checked out. It may be clouding your abilities.*
<DM> *You turn around to a see large poe, twice your size, float through the entrance. Its eyes are red, glowing brightly. Below it, its aura is dragging a pile of corpses, all of them wearing white robes.*
<DM> *The poe speaks, its voice hitting multiple clashing pitches at once.*
<DM> [Poe]: You've run far... but I... I've fooooouuuuuuund you.
* Sephiroth backs away from the poe.
<DM> [Poe]: Come... join me... come back...
<Monroe> Crap, it's the Great Poe of this area! We gotta go!
<DM> *The Poe and its pile of corpses blocks the only way out.*
<DM> [Poe]: Sacrifice your life for me...
<DM> [Poe]: So that I may be revived to my true form....
* Sephiroth enters battle stance.
<DM> [Poe]: We Interlopers... will rise once again! And the Triforce... WILL be ours!
<DM> -=QUEST PAUSE=-
<DM> *That explains why the temple is there when it shouldn't me. You can hear the senilisms of Strife on the other side.*
<Strife> Ehh, am I so old, I'm goin' blind?
<Strife> Ooh, I know, I'm dreamin', and in mah dream, I'm SENILE!
* Monroe sighs.
* Sephiroth psyducks.
<DM> *A Redead shreds the bookcase to pieces, and it confronts you, its arms waving slowly from one side to another.*
<DM> *Roll initiatives!*
<Sephiroth> $init 1d11
<Navi> Sephiroth: Your initiative roll has been entered. You rolled: 2.

- <DM> *Congratulations Sephiroth, you gain 60 Experience from unintentionally setting the room on fire and killing two Gibdos without even entering battle with them!*

<Strife> Hah, that's how you get old!

RE: 2-1-14: The Final Shard - WindStrike - 02-02-2014
Enemies:
[enemy Power=54 Courage=49 Wisdom=12 Hearts=47/47 Magic=0/3]
Origin: The Ocarina of Time
Gibdos are actually Redeads covered in mummy wrappings. They latch onto their foes, sucking their life force and turning them to mummies. Thankfully, unlike bare Redeads, they don't let out paralyzing shrieks. Shadow (Level: 4), Nature (Level: 3)
- Gibdo is an Undead, and thus can only restore Hearts and Magic through siphoning.
- Any other form of recovery used on Gibdo will instead damage it.
Gibdo has a Decay Aura, which slowly accumulates over time.
Everyone that's not Undead takes # * 2 poison damage (neutral) at the end of each round, where # = the current round number.
Only one Decay Aura can be active at a time.
- If Gibdo has 3 Magic and is latched onto a target by the start of Gibdo's turn, target is Gibdo-fied! and dies instantly.
- Gibdo recovers Hearts equal to half of the target's Maximum Hearts.
- When the target dies, Gibdo's Magic counter is reduced back to 0.
Gibdo's Magic counter cannot be modified by anything except Leech and Gibdo-fied!
- When Gibdo is latched onto a target, he and the target take a portion of the damage the other takes.
- Target takes half of the damage that Gibdo takes.
- Gibdo takes half of the damage that the target takes.
- This does not include any damages or siphons caused by Leech.
- Mummy Wrappings do not cover the Gibdo's hands, which spread their decay and filth with anything they touch. Can swing its arm at one target.
- Roll your Courage +3 dice vs. targets' Courage dice
- If the attack is successful, target gets the Decay Affliction:
- All neutral damage taken by the target is doubled.
Decay lasts until the end of your turn one round later.
- Requires Shadow (Level: 2) and Nature (Level: 2)
- Gibdo attempts to latch onto a target in an effort to leech out its lifeforce.
- Roll your Power +6 dice vs. targets' Power dice / Damage is halved
- If the attack is successful, Gibdo manages to latch onto the target:
- Target may attempt to roll out using base Power or base Courage stat against the original successes of the attack.
- If the attack is unsuccessful, Gibdo steals a bit of target's lifeforce by siphoning 8 Hearts and 1 Magic.
- If target does not attempt to roll out, Gibdo siphons 12 Hearts and 1 Magic from the target.
While latched onto a target, both Gibdo and the target cannot do anything else.
- Requires Shadow (Level: 4)
- Gibdo opens its mouth, which sends a breath of putrid air that reaks of death and filth. Hits everyone that isn't Undead.
- Roll your Courage +7 dice vs. targets' Wisdom dice / Damage is halved
- The damage is considered poison damage (neutral).
- If the attack is successful, target(s) gets the Filth Affliction:
- Target smells horrifyingly filthy, causing him and everyone that's not Undead to lose 3 dice when attacking or defending.
- This does not stack on one target, but if it's on multiple targets, it does stack.
- If target hit by a Fire or Water attack, Filth is cleansed from the target.
Filth lasts for the remainder of the battle.
- Gibdo is covered in wrappings, protecting it greatly from all attacks, but it's highly susceptible to Fire attacks.
- Damage taken is reduced by 9.
- Every time Gibdo is attacked (successful or not), its damage reduction is reduced by 2.
- When the damage reduction hits 0, the Mummy Wraps constrict Gibdo to deal 4 neutral damage to it before being completely destroyed.
Fire attacks set the wrappings on Fire, burning them off.
Gibdo (and any target it is latched to) take 8 burn damage (neutral).
Mummy Wrappings can only be equipped by Gibdos.
[enemy Power=23 Courage=60 Wisdom=48 Hearts=34/34 Magic=0/0]
Origin: The Ocarina of Time
A terrifying walking corpse, not unlike a zombie. It looks like a burned human with nearly all of its blood sucked dry, making it look like it's made of skin and bones. Its face is covered in a worn leather mask, with holes for two black eyes and a gaping maw where it's mouth would be. Shadow (Level: 5), Nature (Level: 2)
- Redead is an Undead, and thus can only restore Hearts and Magic through siphoning.
- Any other form of recovery used on Redead will instead damage it.
Redead has a Decay Aura, which slowly accumulates over time.
Everyone that's not Redead takes # * 2 poison damage (neutral) at the end of each round, where # = the current round number.
Only one Decay Aura can be active a time.
- Redead starts the battle very slowly and is more susceptible to attacks.
- Initiative is reduced by $0d5.
- When defending, your roll is decreased by 6 dice.
- If someone uses Escape, you cannot defend against it.
- Every time Redead is hit, it adapts to the damage and becomes faster.
- When Redead is hit by a physical attack, it gains 5 damage reduction against physical attacks.
- When Redead is hit by a magical attack, it gains 5 damage reduction against magical attacks.
- When Redead is hit by any attack, it grows in speed and gains 5 dice when attacking or defending.
- All of the above stack infinitely.
These effects last for the remainder of the battle.
- Redead lets out a piercing screech that impairs hearing and causes brain damage, ignoring damage reduction. Hits all enemies.
- Roll your Wisdom +2 dice vs. targets' Wisdom dice / Damage is halved
- If the attack is successful, target gets the Disoriented Affliction:
- Target's dice when defending is decreased by 4.
- This can stack up to three times.
- On the third stack, target's base Wisdom stat is halved, and target becomes deaf.
Disoriented lasts for the remainder of the battle.
- Redead lets out a scary, demonic yet hollow screech against all enemies.
- Roll your Wisdom +5 dice vs. targets' Wisdom dice / Deals no damage
- If the attack is successful, target(s) get the Immobilized Affliction:
- Target cannot attack by melee or move in any way, including Cover or Escape.
- Target can break out of Immobilized by rolling Power or Courage against the original successes of the roll.
Immobilized lasts until the target is hit or breaks out of it.
- Redead uses its rotting hands to swipe at a target.
- Roll your Courage +3 dice vs. targets' Courage dice
- If the attack is successful, target gets a stack of the Exponential Bleeding Affliction:
- At the start of each round, target takes 1 bleed damage (neutral) for every stack of Bleeding, Internal Bleeding, or Exponential Bleeding that the target has.
- This stacks infinitely.
Exponential Bleeding lasts for the remainder of the battle.
Origin: ZURPG
A large, grand Poe with glowing red eyes. It carries a lantern that casts black light around itself, and when it kills someone, it adds the body to a pile of ragdoll bodies that's dragged along below the floating Poe. Rumor says that any Poe with red eyes instead of yellow eyes is a surviving Dark Interloper from the Hyrulean Civil War.
This particular Poe has been wandering the Catacombs since Ganondorf's defeat. Its power is unmatched, and every attempt to fight it by anyone has resulted in death or retreat.
- When Great Poe dies, any equipped items are dropped.

- An old diary, with black ink spilled over most of it. However, a single page remains, containing the following text:
"Fifty days. It's been fifty days since Ganondorf took the throne. Since then, nearly the entire Royal Family has been wiped out. I am one of the few that remain.
Where the hell are the Sheikah, dangit?! Where were they when he attacked?! They're loyal to us; they should be helping us, not hiding!
I've been living here in this hell hole, living off the corpses of Redeads. Maybe one of those Redeads was my brother or father. Who knows.
I don't know how much longer I can hold out. I know for certain that Redead from a week ago was poisoned... but it was the only food around.
It's only a matter of time now. We're all going to die. We're not making it out.
The prophecy of a hero was a lie. It was just a lie to give us hope. The sages are just a bunch of liars!
I don't even know what I'm trying anymore. Maybe I'm hoping for the Sheikah to show up. Maybe I still believe in a hero.
Maybe I believe in those rumors that the Sheikah of a hundred years ago are back. I just hope... if they are... they're here to help-
The last three lines are cut off by a pool of dried blood.
