Rupee Rolls - WindStrike - 09-30-2013 Every time we finish a battle, everyone rolls for Rupees, but... why is it even like that? Well, it occurred to me that we're doing it simply because it was like that from the very start, back when this game was under a different name and creator and had many broken things. It's not like it's an actual problem, but at the same time, there's more sensible ways to do it. Here's the poll choices:
So there's my suggestions. The fourth poll choice, if you pick it, please post what your suggestion is. Overall, this isn't something I'm pushing, the issue hasn't even been brought up, but it's just something I realized. If you have any comments or thoughts, fire away. RE: Rupee Rolls - Darte Fellshard - 09-30-2013 I like the random chance inherent in the roll for each person, but it could use a baseline. Everyone gets a baseline, then everyone rolls for extra: At the end of a battle, everyone rolls $#d4 for Rupees, where # = the total amount of experience. On top of that, each player automatically receives 4*# rupees. This makes the final quantity $#d4 + 4*#. For example, a roll on a 25-exp battle would look like $25d4 + 100. This roll would be calculated by the DM and displayed as such. It gives a individualistic thrill without there being as big of a discrepancy between people who roll low and people who roll high. I'd say probably around a 30%-50% "bonus" should be in rolled rupees. RE: Rupee Rolls - WindStrike - 10-06-2013 Since we don't have a true majority vote for change (we have more votes for number 2, but it's not considered majority), nor do some people care, I'm simply going to leave Rupees as it is. If the votes change down the road and it looks like there's a majority or something very close to it, I'll look back into this. |
