Standard Abilities - WindStrike - 06-12-2013 In player profiles, there's three active skills they start with by default. While Bash is mainly to provide a Power attack at level 1, it's the other two I want to talk about, Cover and Escape. They're primarily listed there in the profiles to show the players how they work. However, they're actually supposed to be built into everyone... including all enemies. Currently, as it is, enemies only have Cover or Escape if it's written into them, namely the ones that run off of counterattacks. Preferably, I'd like it so all enemies could use them, but adding it in would add a good bit of "clutter". After seeing two or three enemies that have it, it'd just be something that's in the way and not needed. Thoughts? Should it be added in every enemy profile, or should it be understood that it's there? I would add the skills to an enemy profile if it's a variant on Cover or Escape, but personally, I'd rather these two be naturally built in. If so, I'll add something in the Rules/Knowledge section as well as the About Enemies section. RE: Standard Abilities - Darte Fellshard - 06-12-2013 Yeah, just make 'em standard mechanics. Refactoring is (almost) never a bad thing, and I don't think you're losing anything at all by doing it. RE: Standard Abilities - Orithan - 06-12-2013 Well, we might as well refactor my Trigger ability I built into some of the enemies for my upcoming Mima's Nightmare quest while you we are at it. RE: Standard Abilities - WindStrike - 06-12-2013 Sounds like a good idea. So does this mean that all enemies would have the ability to trigger traps as well? RE: Standard Abilities - WindStrike - 06-13-2013 Cover and Escape have been standardized. A section under Skills within the Rules & Knowledge Thread has been added for Cover and Escape. Regarding Trigger, I'll add it to the Rules/Knowledge after Traps have actually been tested. However, do know for Orin's quest this weekend, it's standardized, meaning all players and enemies can use Trigger. |
