Villains - WindStrike - 11-26-2012 While the NPCs thread contains allied and neutral characters, this thread contains a list of known villains throughout ZURPG. There are far more rumors about these characters due to their generally unknown status. Death Mountain Blaaz, Master of Fire
After being defeated in Subrosia by a group of travelers and Smithy, Blaaz fled to Hyrule and holed himself up in Death Mountain's Fire Temple. A wall of lava held by Magic blocks the only entrance to the temple. It is rumored that Blaaz is building not only his own strength but an army there. It is unknown what exactly he's after, as it doesn't seem to be power. However, he seems to hold a grudge against Smithy, even from before they fought. In terms of power, Blaaz doesn't stand a chance in a one on one fight against Smithy, but through tricks and attrition, it'd certainly be a close match. Hyrule Field Scepter
Unlike other Poes that carry lanterns as their weapons, this Poe carries the omen of death, wielding dual scythes. His name suggests that he uses a scepter, but no one has seen proof of it. The only time Scepter actually appears is once a month, on each moonless night. Only then can he use his signature move, Aeternal Darkness. Though, there's a rumor going around claiming someone else was able to use that move even when the sun was shining brightly. The only proof of that rumor is that Scepter seems to fear the existence of the one that can actually do that. Termina Happy Mask Man
Right after Link defeated Skull Kid, the evil inside of Majora's Mask had been vanquished. The Happy Mask Man came along, took it, and disappeared. A decade later, he was seen applying Majora's Mask to an innocent boy. The boy screamed in pain and agony. The person that saw this tried to stop the madness, and in an attempt to pry the mask off the boy's face, the mask broke in half instead. The Happy Mask Man managed to get away with one half. The other half disappeared. Later, it was seen in Subrosia, being used as a shield by a deranged rogue that looked like he was possessed. The Happy Mask Man was last seen at the Great Bay. Some Zoras there say they saw him heading towards the Gerudo Fortress. Unknown Agahnim
A year after Link defeated Ganondorf and left Hyrule, another evil crept upon the land. How he entered the Sacred Realm undetected, no one knows. He attempted to undo the seal on Ganondorf, but was unsuccessful. However, it left a scar in the Sacred Realm, causing it to leak its mystical powers into the land of Hyrule - Magic. After that incursion, Agahnim was never to be heard or seen again. However, it is known that he is in Hyrule, both through rumors, random sightings, and Rauru. The theory behind Agahnim's ability to enter the Sacred Realm is that he used to be the host of Ganon, thus possibly allowing him to teleport to Ganondorf's seal itself. Attack on Death Mountain
During an attack on Goron City, Agahnim slipped through the mayhem and attacked the Great Fairy in the fairy fountain at Death Mountain's peak. There, he sealed her with his dark energies. Chains now rest on every fairy fountain in Hyrule and Termina. The only way to remove these chains is to defeat whoever is bound to the chains. For the Death Mountain fountain, it was a Fairy Darknut that had been corrupted by Agahnim's powers. Bloodwind
Originally known as a traveler by the name of Wind, something appears to have turned him against Hyrule. Although he's on the wanted list, he wanders around as he pleases, always in a dark red and gray cloak. It's obvious who he is when he enters even Hyrule Castle, yet no one tries to take him down. Rumors say he's blackmailed every major location's leaders into allowing him to roam as he pleases. In exchange, he is not to do anything to inflict harm while inside those areas. That's the theory, anyways. The original bounty on his head came from when he ruthlessly slaughtered a group of travelers, of which only one managed to survive. It continued to stack when he made certain affiliations while traveling through Gerudo Valley and parts of Termina. Ever since the story of the slaughter, no one has attacked him, and he has attacked no one. That's the theory, anyways. Subrosia Rogues
In Subrosia, a large group of rogues were found slaughtered, most of them with half their bodies exploded. One of the rogues was found carrying half of Majora's Mask as a shield. After he was killed by a rather powerful blast of air by a passerby party, Bloodwind showed up to take the shield. He appeared to be covered in blood, most likely from all of the rogues. He tried appearing later to take an artifact known as the Sunray Orb, but he was stopped by Smithy. He was later found near Snowhead in Termina by Mido, though he managed to escape again. Drachekriegr
Drachekriegr was once a knight of Azeroth, but was slain in the last battles of the First War of Azeroth. Years after the destruction of Draenor, the immensely powerful Lich King created a new breed of Death Knights: malevolent, rune-wielding warriors of the Scourge. Drachekriegr was created in the Lich King's image, to spread death, destruction and domination wherever he went. He does not recall how he was transported from Azeroth to Hyrule, nor does he question it. His allegiance resides solely within the Lich King. Will you be able to stop him? Only time will tell. GIL
A super depressed darknut with an aura that depresses everyone around him, GIL has no friends. In fact, the attempt to make GIL a friend has so far resulted in death. Yes, GIL kills everyone that would be his friend, whether he wanted to befriend or whether his victim wanted to befriend him. By what might have well been luck, he was defeated once, though the circumstances weren't exactly in his favor at the time. He will be back. Someone write in Vaati. I'm unfamiliar with his personality. Feel free to toss in a history section too, though if it does something that might conflict with something else, prod me first before posting it. RE: Villains - Orithan - 06-13-2013 Dethl The evil spirit responsible for the mysterious, virulent nightmares that have occasionally occurred within Hyrule, more commonly within Koholint. Very little is known about Dethl itself, but several parties of adventurers have witnessed it's influence through it's agents known as Nightmares, including a party of six travelers (seven if you count Hal, who opened up a passageway into the dream) who ventured into Mima's dream to save her from the Nightmare Chenmope. It is rumored that Hal and Mima have some connection to Dethl, as both of whom seem to have some knowledge about who it's potential victims are and what type of Nightmare is within each dream. Thoughter Govanaus and the Forbidden Sword
As a reaction to the Govanaus brothers' invasion into the Water Temple, he begun to form a line in the tower chamber using a combination of Whispies and Keaton. Immediately, Silvio begun picking off the Keaton and Whispies with utmost efficiency and stealth; managing to get rid of most of the Keaton and a few Whispies before being discovered. Thoughter and the three remaining Keaton in the tower room gave chase until reentering the tower chamber where he caught his sight on the Wattson brothers and Matilda entering the Spike chamber, giving chase himself while the other Keaton continued chasing Silvio. There, in the spike chamber, Thoughter briefly engaged the party in battle before being trapped in a cage of spikes for a short amount of time, enough time for the party to escape him. He then resumed chasing Silvio, making it to the big ??? room directly after the statue switch chamber before being stopped and forced to go back by Oliander pulling a crafty trick in locking the door to the adjacent ??? room. Once back into the tower chamber, Thoughter engaged in battle against the Govanaus brothers. The battle was long and savage, giving time for Oliander's party to loot his office, but Thoughter managed to escape by sweeping Leroy up into a hurricane and running from Sybilis. He has been on the run ever since, despite the Govanaus brothers giving up chase after a couple of days for them and the rest of their squad to regroup and think up their next plan. Shauntai
Origin: The Leaklon Chronicles. The evil deity residing in the Whispy Sword, Shauntai produces Whispies by corrupting the souls of the dead and corrupts the soul of the Whispy Sword's wielder. It aims to corrupt the wielder of the Whispy Sword, currently Thoughter, so it can escape its prison in the sword and begin ravaging the world with its supreme might. In order to stop it from escaping from the Whispy Sword, the Govanaus family has taken the task of keeping it away from anyone who may be tempted to use the sword for many generations. Usually, it is locked away in a sacred sanctuary where nobody (including the Govanaus family) can touch other than by breaking through. Some idiotic fool always manages to steal the sword once every 25 or so years though. This results in an endless cycle of locking the sword away and seeking out the unfortunate thief. This has not left the Govanaus family unscathed - This has driven several members, including Sybilis, to become bloodthirsty beasts who react on primordial instinct. It is not known how the sword appeared in Hyrule, but one thing is certain: Unless Sybilis and Leroy can stop Thoughter, Shauntai will corrupt his soul and break out of the sword. RE: Villains - FireSeraphim - 09-16-2013 Castlevanians Count Vlad Tepes -Mathias Cronqvist- Dracula
Once every 100 Years In the world where Christopher Belmont is from, Count Dracula rises from his grave to carry out his vendetta against god and humanity due to his extreme hatred for both. The count wasn't always like this though, he was once a human named Mathias Cronqvist. Like any tragic villain his story is something of a long one. His hatred of humanity stems from the fact that a angry mob accused his second wife Lisa Farenheights of witchcraft (A women who Dracula though was the reincarnation of his first wife, Elizabeth Cronqvist who died to a incurable disease and who he blames god for her death, thus motivating Dracula to become what he is to spite god) and burnt her at the stake. The Count was recently prematurely resurrected by his current close friend and cohort, Death and has set in motion a sinister plan... Death, The Governer of the End of Living Things
Death has always been a loyal servant and close friend to the Count, carrying out his will in any manner possible. Death was not around for the last two times that the Count was resurrected due to the fact that he was busy researching a mysterious portal that appeared in Elizabeth Bartley's Castle in England (Castle Proserpina to be exact) this portal lead to the temple of time in Hyrule and apon learning about this land and it lore (He did so while using his Father Zed disguise) He then set in motion a plan to revive his master and to help his master claim the Triforce so that he can finally carry out his vendetta against both God and Man once and for all Elisabeth Bartley Elizabeth Barley much like her uncle, seeks revenge against humans for executing her on charges of vampirism. Elizabeth is a cunning and brilliant sorceress in her own right being a mistress of illusions and arcane deception. She was revived by Carmellia and was the one who brought Death's attention to the portal in her castle Carmellia Carmellia is a female vampire who takes many shapes and forms. Carmilla loyally serves Dracula though, unlike him, she doesn't display a hatred of humans. She actually believes that darkness is the true nature of humanity, which Dracula would bring out. She was the one who revived Elisabeth Bartley and was going to carry out a different plan of hers if it wasn't for the portal that was recently discovered in Castle Proserpina |
